About ATOMIC AQUATICS

Atomic Aquatics is a full-line manufacturer of premium dive products, leading each category.

Every Atomic design is the result of gathering the most experienced, innovative professionals from the diving industry in a studio and breaking down every aspect of a product.

From developing the first all-Titanium regulator to using Schott Superwite UltraClear glass for masks, hand-inlay fin plastics with varying flex properties, to incorporating tough, waterproof laminated textiles for the new BC1 – sourcing the best materials is paramount in Atomic Aquatics’ process.

Atomic Aquatics controls every aspect, from design to materials to manufacturing. Every detail is carefully managed to ensure quality. The company designs everything, including the components. In-house R&D, along with efficient manufacturing, is how they achieve this. Nothing is ‘off-the-shelf’. That means Atomic Aquatics has the latest in CNC machinery and skilled machinists to run them.

Some say they’re doing more than just developing new diving products – they’re creating a whole new class of diving equipment.

History of ATOMIC AQUATICS

Atomic Aquatics founders Dean Garraffa and Doug Toth had already forged a reputation as discerning, demanding designers of innovative diving equipment since 1976.

Back in 1977. Dean Garraffa applied his formal training in machine technology and metallurgy to his first regulator design. This model and subsequent designs for various major manufacturers were among the elite few that passed the stringent USN Class A performance evaluations.

Originally graduated as a marine biologist, and working as dive instructor part time, Doug Toth switched careers in the late 1970’s to mechanical design and ultimately to design diving equipment:
I’ve never forgotten how much more difficult it was to train new divers with equipment that was overly complicated, uncomfortable or difficult to use. Reliability and safety are expected, but the gear should also be simple, functional and fun to use.

After generating numerous groundbreaking patents for a major manufacturer, they established Atomic Aquatics in 1995 and embarked on a mission to create diving equipment of the highest caliber.
